On Sunday, August 17th, the Seneca Falls Country Club defeated Silver Creek to retain the Canal Cup. The SFCC squad was captained by our current club champion Tab Carmen. SFCC broke out early taking a 5.5 to 0.5 lead after the opening best ball matches. Then, in the second round of shambles matches, SFCC closed out the matches going 5-1. The final round of alternate shot format matches did not need to be played as SFCC had already won the 9.5 points necessary to retain the Cup. The final tally for the 2025 matches was 10.5 – 1.5 in favor of Seneca Falls Country Club.
The host course, Silver Creek GC, provided a great day of golf for our members who represented SFCC and we sincerely thank them for a great day of camaraderie and an incredible steak dinner following the matches. SFCC will host the 2026 matches and we hope to return the same hospitality we enjoyed at Silver Creek on Sunday.
